6. ClickOK.Waitforthelibrarytopoweroffthedrive.
7. WatchthefrontpanelforaFeedbackRequiredscreenindicatingthat
thedrivewassuccessfullyshutdown.
8. Replacethedrive.
a. Accessthebackofthelibraryandidentifythedriveyouneedto
remove.
Note: SeeIdentifytheDrivesintheLibraryonpage149todetermine
thephysicallocationthatcorrespondstothedriveidentifierfor
thedriveyouarereplacing.
b. Ifthedrivehastwointerfaceconnectors,makeanoteofthe
connectertowhichtheinterfacecableisconnected.Youmustuse
thesameconnectorwhenyouconnectthenewdrive.
c. Disconnecttheinterfacecablefromthedrive.
Note: IfyouarereplacingaSCSIdrivethathasaterminatorinstalled,
removetheterminatorandsetitasidetobeinstalledonthenew
drive.
d. Usingyourfingersora#2Phillipsscrewdriver,loosenthecaptive
screwsthatsecurethedrivesledtothechassis.
Note: Thehalf‐heightdrivehastwocaptivescrewsandthefull‐height
drivehasfourcaptivescrews.
Do not respond to the prompt in the Feedback Required screen or perform any
other operations from the user interface (either locally or remotely) until you
complete the replacement procedure. If you respond before you replace the drive,
the drive you just powered down powers on and configures itself.
