Note: Keepthepackagingtobeusedwhenreturningthefaileddrive
toSpectraLogic.
g. Connectthecablethatyouremovedfromthemalfunctioningdrive
tothenew drive.Makesurethatyouconnectittothesameinterface
connectorthatwasusedonthedriveyouremoved.
Note: IfyouinstalledaSCSIdrive,installaSCSIterminatorifthedrive
isthelastSCSIdeviceontheSCSIbus.
9. Afteryouinstallthenewdrive,returntotheFeedbackRequiredscreen
displayedontheuserinterface(see
Step7onpage460)andclickOK.
Thelibrarypow ers onthenewdriveandbeginstheprocessof
configuringit.Aprogres sscreendisplaysinformationabouttheprocess.
Whentheconfigurationiscomplete,theDrivesscreendisp l ay sshowing
thenewdriv e functioningintheolddrive’slocation.Thenewdrive
assumestheolddrive’sconfiguration,soit
canbeused immediately.

Make sure that you connect the cable to the SAME location that was used on the
drive you removed. Connecting the cable to the other connector may prevent the
host system from recognizing the new drive.
Wait for several minutes for the drive to initialize. Pushing any other buttons on the
front panel before initialization completes causes an error.
