• GP2 (Condensate Pump) — This pump pulls the re-condensed sample after
combustion/reaction/oxidation from the bottom of the Furnace into the Gas Cooler
Unit.
• GP3 (Acid Pump) — This diaphragm pump dispenses Acid into the MFSV to
adjust the sample pH during NPOC and TIC analysis.
• GP4 (Dilution Pump) — This pump dispenses Dilution Water into the MFSV when
using the Dilution and/or Rinsing features. The GP4 peristaltic pump head is
replaced as part of regular maintenance. This pump has both clockwise direction
(CW) and anticlockwise (ACW) pumping.
Filters
The Analyzer Flow Path uses filters and absorbers throughout to remove contaminants
from the Analyzer Flow Path. This includes the following Filters:
• HS1 (Aerosol Absorber) — This filter is part of the “Absorber” Predictive
Maintenance item. It contains glass wool filter packing. This Filter removes large
particulates and any large water vapor that did not get condensed in the Gas
Cooler Unit. The Aerosol Absorber packing is replaced as part of regular
maintenance.
• HS2 (Halogen Trap) — This filter is part of the “Absorber” Predictive Maintenance
item. It contains zinc chips and brass wool filter packing. This Filter removes
halogen gas that may have been created during oxidation/combustion. The
Halogen Trap packing is replaced as part of regular maintenance when visually
exhausted.
• HS3 (0.2 µm NDIR Disk Filter) — This hydrophobic filter is installed directly after
the HS2 (Halogen Trap) and removes any remaining moisture prior to the NDIR
Detector. If this filter is clogged, the Analyzer will indicate a gas flow warning. This
filter is replaced as part of regular maintenance.
• HS4 (0.1 µm Pre-NDIR Membrane Filter) — This filter is installed prior to the
NDIR Detector. If this filter is clogged, the Analyzer will indicate a gas flow
warning. This filter is only accessible by a Sievers Service Technician.
KH1 — Pressure Regulator
IMPORTANT! Do not adjust this hardware! This is Service Only.
The KH1 (Pressure Regulator) is an internal pressure regulator used to adjust the Carrier
Gas Pressure and Flow Rate. This pressure regulator is set at the factory and should only
be adjusted by a certified Sievers Service Technician. All Carrier Gas flow adjustments to
the Analyzer should be made via an external pressure regulator. Depending on the
Carrier Gas option selected by the Customer, this will either be in the form of an external
pressure regulator provided by the Customer (if using Nitrogen or compressed air) or the
Regulator located inside the Air Box enclosure, if using the Optional Air Box Accessory.
