Air Box
The Air Box is an accessory designed for users who do not have access to a dry, oil-free,
reliable air supply (Carrier Gas). It includes a Air Intake Filter, Air Pump, Coalescing Air
Filter, Regulator, and the Air Scrubber (CO
2
remover).
Coalescing Air Filter
The Coalescing Air Filter collects moisture in the bottom of the filter from the Air Pump. As
the moisture collects and puddles in the bottom, it causes a float to rise. Once the float
gets to a certain level, it opens a valve that allows the water to drain out the bottom of the
filter. This filter will require replacement over time.
Intake Air Filter
The Intake Air Filter is located outside of the Air Box, hanging below the unit. This filter
removes any contaminants from entering the Air Pump in the Air Box. This filter will
require replacement over time.
Air Scrubber
The Air Scrubber removes CO
2
from the Carrier Gas supply, either in conjunction with the
Air Box or the Plant Instrument Air supply. The Air Scrubber uses the following
consumables:
Soda Lime
Soda Lime is a mixture of calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)
2
) and sodium hydroxide (NaOH)
that is commonly used as a CO
2
absorber. Soda Lime granules are usually available in
different sizes, and for the purpose of CO
2
removal, we recommend granule size 2-4 mm
with Indicator. This size provides a large surface area for the reaction of CO
2
with the
Soda Lime, leading to efficient removal of CO
2
from the air. If using Soda Lime with
