MFSV Vent
The MFSV Vent is a bidirectional vent to ambient air that uses a small “Soda Lime”
Absorber Cartridge to prevent the ingress of atmospheric CO
2
into the MFSV. The MFSV
Vent Absorber Cartridge is replaced as part of regular maintenance when visually
exhausted.
RM1 — Check Valve
The RM1 (Check Valve) is a spring loaded, one-way valve that allows Carrier Gas
through to inject sample into the Furnace. When appropriate for analysis, this valve will
quickly allow Carrier Gas to flow through to Inject the Sample into the Furnace. This valve
does not need to be actuated or exercised by the Analyzer firmware. The Check Valve is
located behind the Fluidics section of the Analyzer and is not readily accessible.
Nozzles
The RN1 (Carrier Gas Nozzle) and RN2 (Injection Gas Nozzle) are both Carrier Gas flow
restrictors. These components are located and installed within the Carrier Gas inlet flow
path prior to the Injection Block. These nozzles are located behind the Fluidics section of
the Analyzer and are not readily accessible.
RN1 is used to create a stable primary flow through the reactor and associated gas
sample path to move the reacted sample gases to the Detector(s).
RN2 is used to restrict the flow into the pressure vessel (Injection Accumulator, CM1) to
prevent the primary flow rate from fluctuating.
Valves
The Analyzer contains the following Valves: see Table 2-4 on page 48. For more
information, see “Valve Control” on page 136.
