Absorber — Halogen Trap (HS2)
Open the Analyzer door and locate the Halogen Trap (HS2). It is a glass tube that
contains different filter packing materials; Brass Wool and Zinc Chips. Depending on the
application, the Halogen Trap filter media may need to be replaced more frequently.
Over time, the Brass Wool will change color from gold to copper. If the color changes for
two-thirds of the Brass Wool, then it is recommend to replace the filter material.
In addition, the Zinc Chips over time will lose their shine. If the shine is gone for two-thirds
of the Zinc Chips, then it is recommend to replace the filter material.

filter packing as well. Both replacements can be performed
individually or at the same time.
16. The Halogen Trap filter media, indicated by a visual color change, may be replaced more
frequently than the “Absorber” Predictive Maintenance indicates. If this is the case, the
“Absorber” gauge on the Maintenance (Cockpit) screen will be used to indicate when to
replace the Aerosol Absorber filter media.
