Clearing Historical Log Data
The Alaris PCU stores electronic protected health information (ePHI) data that requires HIPAA
compliance. The ePHI data must be cleared from the historical log on the Alaris system when the PCU is
transferred or moved as follows:
• When the PCU is moved from one hospital to another hospital that is outsid
e the integrated delivery
network (IDN)
• Between the rental company and hospital
