Making a measurement with the QuickSet functions
The measurement-only functions available through the QuickSet option include Voltmeter, Ammeter,
and Ohmmeter.
Using the front panel:
1. Make connections to the device under test before running the Quick Setup. The Voltmeter and
Ammeter options use 2-wire connections. For the Ohmmeter option, you can select 2-wire or
4-wire connections. For information on making connections, see Test connections (on page
2-
68).
2. Press QUICKSET.
3. Under One-Touch Quick Setups, select the type of measurement.
4. Ohmmeter only: Select 2-wire or 4-wire sense.
5. A message may be displayed. If the conditions of your test setup permit it, select OK.
6. The output turns on and the instrument begins making measurements.
7. Observe the readings.
8. You can adjust the source and measurement settings while the instrument makes measurements.
9. When finished, turn the output off by pressing the OUTPUT ON/OFF control. The OUTPUT
indicator light switches off.
Sourcing a voltage with the QuickSet functions
The source-only function available through the QuickSet option includes Power Supply.
Using the front panel:
1. Make connections to the device under test before running the Quick Setup. You can select 2-wire
or 4-wire connections. For information on making connections, see Test connections (on page
2-
68).
2. Press QUICKSET.
3. Under One-Touch Quick Setups, select Power Supply.
4. Select the voltage level to be sourced. Select OK.
5. Select the maximum allowed source current. Select OK.
6. Select 2-wire or 4-wire sense.
7. The output turns on and the instrument begins sourcing voltage.
8. You can adjust the source and measurement settings while the instrument makes measurements.
9. When finished, turn the output off by pressing the OUTPUT ON/OFF control. The OUTPUT
indicator light switches off.
