Inthismode,themajorityoftheairowisdirectedtothe
windshieldandsidewindowairoutlets,whileasmall
amountisdirectedtotheooroutlets.TheA/Cwillbe
activeandtheinletdoorwillforcefreshairintothecab
toreducehumiditylevelsandmoisturebuilduponthe
windshield.
Toremovestaleairorsmokewhileairconditionerisoperating,you
maywanttoopenaventwindowforashortperiodoftime.Always
parkintheshadewhenpossible.Ifyourvehiclehasbeenparked
inthesunwiththewindowsup,removetheoverheatedairinside
bydrivingwithwindowsdownandtheairconditionerONforone
ortwocityblocks.
WARNING
Topreventpersonalinjuryand/ordeath,or
damagetoproperty,neverdrivethevehicle
unlessthewindshieldandallotherwindows
areclear.Afogged,ice/snowcovered,or
dirtywindshieldorwindowlimitsvision,which
couldcauseanaccident.Toimprovedefroster
efciency,removeiceand/orsnowbyhandfrom
thewindshieldandwindowswithanon-metallic
scraper.
CAUTION
Topreventpropertydamageandtoclear
systemofhumidair,operateblowersfor30
secondsathighspeed,withtheAIRFLOW/
AIRCONDITIONERknobonthenormalheating
positionbeforeselectingtheDefrostposition.
Thiswillpreventfoggingtheglass,whichcan
occurifhumidairisblownontoacoolwindshield.
NOTE:Thevehiclemaybeequippedwithheatershutoff
valve(s)topreventhotcoolantfromcirculatingthrough
theheatercore(s).Closingthevalve(s)duringhotweather
operationwillimproveA/Csystemperformance.Ifthe
valvesareshutoff,in-cabtemperatureadjustmentmay
becomelimited.Inaddition,whenshutoffvalvesare
closed,defrosterswillproduceonlycoldair.
