2. Raise drive head to its fully extended position.
a. Twist gripper control clockwise and hold in position.

b. While holding gripper control in open position, raise drive head to full extension.
c. Gently release gripper control.
3. Insert syringe (from front of instrument) by sliding flat edge of syringe barrel flange between barrel
flange grippers.
WARNING
Before loading the syringe, check it for damage or defects.
CAUTION
CAUTION
When initially loading the syringe, allow for the volume of fluid contained in the administration set
and retained in the syringe at the end of an infusion, as this “dead space” will not be infused.
