• Config Fault – This is generated by errors in the table generation. The usual
cause is missing table on the input that is needed to regenerate the output
tables (e.g. NIT).
• Output Fault – This is generated by the transport rate not being set high
enough to accommodate the transcoded services.
3.21 Miscellaneous Operations
3.21.1 Front Panel Procedures
3.21.1.1 Rebooting the RX8000 Using the Front Panel
Any of the RX8000 variants can be rebooted quickly using the front panel interface.
This can be done at any time from any of the front panel menu screens.
1. Standing in front of the RX8000 device, press and hold simultaneously the EDIT
and SAVE keys for at least 5 seconds. The front panel screen will display the
following options:
Reboot Unit?
SAVE=Confirm EDIT=Cancel
2. If no further interaction with the front panel is taken, the front panel display will
timeout after a 15 seconds and restore back to the main menu screen.
3. Pressing the EDIT button will cancel the operation and restore the front panel
display back to the main menu screen.
4. Pressing the SAVE button will confirm the operation and immediately cause the
unit to reboot itself:
3.21.1.2 Swapping Between Flash Banks Using the Front Panel
The main software version that executes on the RX8000 can be downloaded to and
run from one of two flash banks. The current flash bank can be determined by
navigating to menu number 1.2.1 and viewing the current software version running
on the unit. The Bank number is shown in brackets after the version number:
