• Language – The country code which the smart card in use is configured for.
This is returned from the smart card when it is inserted.
• CA_SYS_ID – The CA system ID returned from the smart card in use. This is
returned from the smart card after processing the CAT.
3.11.8.5.6 Maturity Lock
Some of the scrambled services may have a maturity rating imposed on it. The
smart card may be set to one of four maturity ratings:
• G – General Audience.
• PG – Parental Guidance.
• A – Over 18.
• X – Erotic.
If the maturity rating of the scrambled service exceeds that of the card level then
smart card will not return any CWs and impose the Maturity Lock. In order to
override the Maturity Lock and allow descrambling to continue, the user must either:
1. Enter the correct CA PIN to override the Maturity Lock.
2. Increase the card level of the current smart card.
As noted above, the smart card may be set to one of four levels. However, the
scrambled service may be set to a fifth level: XXX – Erotic. In this case, the only
option is to override the Maturity Lock as described above.
It should also be noted that switching between services will reset the Maturity Lock if
it was overridden.
3.11.8.5.7 Conax CA Status Messages
The table below lists all the possible Current Status messages and their meaning.
