Configuring an ATM subinterface
Performing basic configurations for an ATM subinterface

1. Enter system view.

and enter its view.

By default, the connection type of
a subinterface is
point-to-multipoint (
p2mp
).
The keywords
p2mp
and
p2p
are
available with the
interface atm
interface-number.subnumber
command only when you are
creating an ATM subinterface. If
you are entering an existing ATM
subinterface, the two keywords
are not available.
3. Set the MTU for the ATM
subinterface.
mtu
mtu-number
Optional.
1500 bytes by default.
4. Shut down the ATM
subinterface.
shutdown
Optional.
By default, an ATM subinterface
is up.
Checking PVC status to determine the protocol state of an
ATM P2P subinterface
