Relocating and Storing
Follow the procedure below to relocate or store the server.
1. Eject CD/DVD media if it is inserted in the server.
2. Power off the server (power LED is off).
3. Disconnect the power cord of the server from the outlet.
4. Disconnect all the cables from the server.
5. Remove the server from the rack.
6. Use an elevating machine to move.
7. Pack the server in proper way to avoid shock or shake.
Check and adjust the system clock before operating the server again after relocating or storing it. If
the system clock is largely lagging or fast after adjusting, contact the reseller or the maintenance
service company for the maintenance. If the server and the built-in optional devices are moved from a
cold place to a warm place in a short time, condensation will occur and cause malfunctions and
breakdown when they are used as they are. When you start operating these equipments again after
the transportation or the storage, make sure to wait for a sufficient period of time to use them in the
operating environment.
IMPORTANT:
Do not lift the server by grabbing the front bezel in the front of the server.
The front bezel can unlatch and the server may fall, resulting to hurt and
breakage of the server breaks.
IMPORTANT:
If the server needs to be relocated/stored due to a change in the floor
layout to a great extent, contact the sales agent.
Make sure to make a backup copy of the important data in the hard disk.
When moving the server with hard disk drives, make sure not to give a
shock to the hard disk drives.
Again, it is recommended to install the server in a place keeping room
temperature for operating internal devices and the server properly.
When storing the server, keep it under storing environment conditions
(temperature: -5 to 55°C, humidity: 20% to 80%, non-condensing).
Observe the following instructions to use the server safely. There are risks of fire, personal
injury, or property damage. Refer to the page iii and later for more description.
Make sure to use a lifter (an elevating machine) to lift the server for supporting the bottom
stably. If there is no lifter, carrying the server by less than four persons may cause backache.
Do not install the server in any place other than specified.
Do not connect/disconnect any interface cable with the power cord of the server plugged on
