Table 5.15 Thermal Event Report Quantities
Quantity Description
Thermal Element
Conditions
The load condition value can be Normal, Warning 1, Warning 2, or
Warning 3.
Normal TO1, TO2, HS1, HS2, FAA1, FAA2, CSE, CSCM, RLL, and TLL
Device Word bits are not asserted.
Warning 1 TO1, HS1, or FAA1 Device Word bit is asserted.
Warning 2 TO2, HS2, FAA2, RLL, or TLL Device Word bit is asserted.
Warning 3 CSE or CSCM Device Word bit is asserted.
Load Current The load current is reported as a per-unit value based on the
transformer rating at the active cooling stage.
In-Service Cooling
Stage
The active cooling system is displayed.
Ambient
Temperature
The value displayed (in degrees Celsius) is either the actual ambient
temperature received from the serial port or the value of the default
ambient temperature setting (D_AMB), if actual temperatures are not
received by the device.
Calculated Top-Oil
Temperature
The value displayed (in degrees Celsius) is the top-oil temperature of
the transformer computed using the load current. The maximum value
displayed is 327.6°C.
Measured Top-Oil
Temperature
The value displayed (in degrees Celsius) is the top-oil temperature of
the transformer received from the serial port. If no data (or invalid data)
are received from the serial port, the value displayed is
-.
Winding Hot-Spot
Temperature
The value displayed (in degrees Celsius) is the computed value of the
winding hot-spot temperature using the measured or calculated top-oil
temperatures and/or the load current of each winding. The maximum
value displayed is 327.6°C.
Aging Acceleration
Factor
The value displayed is the active insulation aging acceleration factor
(FAA). The maximum value of FAA is clamped at 999.9.
Rate of Loss of
Life
The value displayed is the computed daily rate of loss of life (percent)
accumulated in a 24-hour period. This value is updated at midnight
daily.
Total Loss of Life The value displayed represents the total accumulated loss of life
(percent) since last reset.
Time to Assert
TLL
The value displayed represents the estimated time (in hours) to assert
the total loss-of-life alarm (TLL Device Word bit).
NOTE: When the thermal model is
applied on one three-phase
transformer (ETHERM = 1), the
SEL-2414 displays the values for
Transformer 1; but when the thermal
model is applied on a set of three
single-phase transformers
(ETHERM = 3), the SEL-2414 displays
the values for Transformer 1,
Transformer 2, and Transformer 3.
When the thermal model is applied on
a single tank, three-winding
transformer, (ETHERM = W), the
SEL-2414 displays the values for
Transformer 1, Winding 1, Winding 2,
and Winding 3.
