Monitoring
TRFR 2 Top-Oil Temp. Input (T2_OILM)
Range: 1 analog quantity
Set T2_OILM to an analog quantity that measures the top-oil temperature of
transformer T2 in degrees Celsius.
T2 Top-Oil Temp. Fault Condition (T2OIL_F)
Range: SELOGIC control equation
Set T2OIL_F to assert when the measured top-oil temperature of T2
(T2_OILM) is known to be invalid or faulted. T2OIL_F is used to set
MT02_OK, as shown in Figure 5.15.
Note: MT02_OK will automatically deassert if T2_OILM goes outside the
range (–50 to +250).
TRFR 3 Top-Oil Temp. Input (T3_OILM)
Range: 1 analog quantity
Set T3_OILM to an analog quantity that measures the top-oil temperature of
transformer T3 in degrees Celsius.
T3 Top-Oil Temp. Fault Condition (T3OIL_F)
Range: SELOGIC control equation
Set T3OIL_F to assert when the measured top-oil temperature of T3
(T3_OILM) is known to be invalid or faulted. T3OIL_F is used to set
MT03_OK, as shown in Figure 5.15.
Note: MT03_OK will automatically deassert if T3_OILM goes outside the
range (–50 to +250).
Thermal Element Settings Descriptions
Enable Transformer Thermal Monitoring (ETHERM)
Range: N, 1, 3, W
ETHERM identifies the transformer configuration to be used by the thermal
model. See Transformer Nameplate Application Description on page 5.11 for
more information.
Winding LL Voltage (TMWNOM)
Range: 1.00–1000.00 kV, in 0.01 kV steps
Set TMWNOM to the rated phase-to-phase voltage for the winding that is being
monitored. The relay uses TMWNOM in conjunction with the Transformer 1
MVA rating (MVA1CSn) to calculate rated current. The relay then divides
measured current by the rated current to determine K (per unit load) that the relay
uses in thermal element calculations.
Winding 2 LL Voltage (TMWNOM2)
Range: 0.20–1000.00 kV, in 0.01 kV steps
TMWNOM2 is used if ETHERM = W. Set TMWNOM2 to the rated phase-to-
phase voltage for the secondary winding of the three winding transformer that is
being monitored. The relay uses TMWNOM2 in conjunction with the
Transformer 2 MVA rating to calculate rated current. The relay then divides
measured current by the rated current to determine K (per unit load) that the relay
uses in thermal element calculations.
