Determining the
Firmware Version
in Your Device
To find the firmware version number in your SEL-2414 Transformer Monitor,
use the STA command (see STATUS Command (Device Self-Test Status) on
page 7.26 for more information on the STA command). The firmware revision
number is after the R, and the release date is after the D. For example, the follow-
ing is firmware revision number 202, release date April 29, 2008.
FID=SEL-2414-R202-V0-Z003003-D20080429
Table A.1 and Table A.2 list the firmware versions, a description of modifications,
and the instruction manual date code that corresponds to the firmware versions.
The most recent firmware version is listed first.
NOTE: Save event reports with R204
or earlier firmware before upgrading
to R205 or later since the older
reports and newer firmware are
incompatible.

Date Code
SEL-2414-R309-V0-Z009008-D20120824 Manual update only (see Table A.3). 20130214
SEL-2414-R309-V0-Z009008-D20120824
Modified the design of the ETHERM = W mode to more accurately
model three-winding transformers.
Modified the Thermal Element Condition logic to give precedence to
Warning 1 and 2 alarms over Warning 3 alarms.
20120824
SEL-2414-R308-V0-Z008008-D20120523
Fixed an issue which could cause intermittent GPSB or CARD failures
on cold startup.
20120523
SEL-2414-R307-V0-Z008008-D20120224
Corrected an issue with the thermal monitor in which changing the
mode (ETHERM := 1, 3, or W) may not properly clear an alarm.
Corrected an issue with the thermal monitor where a noninteger value
for the voltage setting in TMWNOM caused incorrect calculated top-
oil temperature, hot-spot temperature, and loss-of-life calculation.
Corrected an issue where the thermal model load current data may fail
to properly initialized if TMWSEL is set to AQ without three analog
quantities set for TMWAQ.
Corrected an analog quantities defect where an incorrect value for
3I2PD or 3I2P could be referenced if used in an analog compare in a
SEL
OGIC control equation.
Corrected an issue with the thermal monitor alarm logic where the
CSE alarms were not being blocked by their associated bits indicating
healthy top-oil temperature measurement RTD (MTOn_OK).
20120224
SEL-2414-R306-V0-Z008008-D20111025
Fixed disconnection error with Telnet port and Fast Messages. 20111025
SEL-2414-R305-V0-Z008008-D20110902
Fixed an issue that could cause intermittent GPSB failures on startup.
Updated for IEC 61850 KEMA Certification.
20110902
SEL-2414-R304-V0-Z008008-D20110808
Added three-winding mode to thermal model.
Corrected scaling of TnRLOL and TnTLOL quantities in Modbus.
20110808
SEL-2414-R303-V0-Z007007-D20100624
Manual update only (see Table A.3). 20101222
SEL-2414-R303-V0-Z007007-D20100624
Manual update only (see Table A.3). 20101022
