The available Digital Input I/O can be used to connect sensor devices with DIO interface. For details,
consult with TechMan Robot personnel regarding possible changes in TMflow software.
4.5.2.1 Considerations for Sensor Connections
The following briefly discusses connection to an external device through Digital Input such as transistor
output sensor through setting to sink or source input type.
Set to sink input type
When a device such as a transistor output sensor is connected, NPN open collector transistor output
can be used.
Set to Source input type
When a device such as a transistor output sensor is connected, PNP open collector transistor output
can be used.
PNP sensors are sometimes called “sourcing sensors” as they source positive power to the output.
NPN sensors are sometimes referred as “sinking sensors” because they sink ground to the output.
In NPN, connect I_COM to F_24V while connecting O_COM to F_0V
It is the opposite for PNP mode.
