7. Close the source side lock isolation valve (on the top of the source side
lock).
Tip: The source side lock isolation valve is closed when its handle is at
right angles to the probe handle.
8. Open the vent valve (to the right-hand side of the source side lock) by
turning it counterclockwise.
9. Release the source lock latch, by turning it counterclockwise.
10. While holding the side lock slider assembly and probe handle, withdraw
the side lock slider until it reaches its stop.
11. Tilt the side lock slider assembly so that the probe is vertical.
12. Use tweezers to remove the sample cup from the probe tip.
Ramping the probe temperature
You can ramp the instrument’s probe temperature during tuning or data
acquisition. You can use the Probe Control dialog box to create and run
ramping methods having variable rates and durations. You can use several
different ramps consecutively during an experiment. Save probe ramping
methods in probe ramp method files (.prf).
In the Tune window, click Options > Probe Ramping. The Probe Control dialog
box. has these three tabs:
•Options
•Ramps
• Control
The Probe Control dialog box’s Options tab
Use this page tab to create new, open existing, or save probe ramping method
files (.prf). The table titled “Probe Control dialog box’s Options tab tools” on
page 6-15 details the Probe Control dialog box Options tab tools. The table
titled “Probe Control dialog box’s Options tab parameters” on page 6-16
details the Probe Control dialog box Options page parameters.
