To set up an MRM Scan function:
1. In the MS method editor, click .
Alternative: Click Functions > MRM.
2. In the MRM function editor, enter the required parameters.
3. Click OK.
The MRM Mass dialog box
Use the MRM Mass dialog box to add an entry to, or edit an entry in, the
MRM function editor mass table.
MRM Mass dialog box parameters
Parameter Description
Precursor (Da) The precursor mass to be monitored by the function.
Product (Da) The product mass to be monitored by the function.
Channel Time (ms) The time for which this MRM mass table entry is to
be monitored, typically 50 to 150 ms.
Delay Time (ms) The time delay between finishing monitoring the
preceding MRM mass table entry and starting
monitoring this MRM mass.
Tip: The minimum specifiable time is 1ms, though
the true functional minimum time is 20ms. This
varies depending on the apparent mass transition
(the automatically calculated magnet mass position
to transmit the specific product) from one monitored
reaction to the next. The delay allows the
instrument's electronics and magnet to stabilize
between monitoring successive reactions. Use the
MRM function editor auto-delay function to set
these times and, if necessary, adjust them according
to the specific procedure provided by the service
engineer who installed your instrument.”
