6-16 Inlets and probes
The Probe Control dialog box’s Ramps tab
On this tab you can create and edit the ramping data for the current probe
ramping method. The table titled “Probe Control dialog box’s Ramps tab
parameters” on page 6-17 details the Probe Control dialog box Ramps page
parameters.
Probe Control dialog box’s Options tab parameters
Parameter Description
Use Ramps Enables probe ramp control.
Use Base Peak Enables probe regulation based on the base peak
intensity. The base peak is the most intense peak
within the scanned mass range.
Use TIC control Enables probe regulation based on the Total Ion
Current (TIC).
On Threshold When selected, specifies the intensity (of the current
property used for regulation, that is, Base Peak or
TIC) at which the probe is enabled to increase the
relevant property.
Note: The entered value is in digital-to-analog (DAC)
bits; 0 to 65535 is equivalent to 0 to 10 volts.
Hold Threshold Specifies the intensity (in DAC bits) at which the
probe control attempts to regulate the relevant
property.
Abort Threshold Specifies the intensity (in DAC bits) at which the
probe control no longer attempts to regulate the
relevant property.
After Mass If you selected Use Base Peak, the base peak must
have a mass greater than the value specified in the
Mass text box.
Ramping Property
Name pane
Displays which device will be ramped, and which of
its properties will be controlled, depending upon
which probe is currently selected.
