High resolution tuning 2-13
Optimized (triangulated) peak
7. Click File > Save As to save the low resolution tuning parameters to a
new instrument parameter file (*.ipr).
The low resolution tuning is now finished; perform the high resolution tuning
as described in High resolution tuning on page 2-13.
High resolution tuning
Having completed low resolution tuning, you must perform high resolution
tuning of the instrument, so that it can produce well-shaped mass peaks
having a resolution up to, and above, 10000.
High resolution tuning is typically performed using the PFK peak at mass
293. This peak is less intense than the mass 69 peak that was used for low
resolution tuning.
To find the mass 293 peak
In the MassLynx Tune window’s Control 1 tab, set Magnet Mass to 293.
