To fit the probe contact assembly
1. Fit the spacer and adaptor block to the outer source assembly.
2. Ensure that the probe contact assembly is correctly orientated and fit it
to the outer source assembly.
3. Fit and tighten the 2 screws securing the probe contact assembly,
spacer, and adaptor block to the ion chamber.
4. Use needle-nose pliers or tweezers to connect the 4 push-on connectors
connecting the leads to the right-hand side contact rail assembly.
To fit the re-entrant coupling mechanism
Re-entrant coupling mechanism
1. Fit the spring to the tee-block.
2. Fit the mounting bracket to the ion chamber.
3. Fit and tighten the 2 screws securing the mounting bracket to the ion
chamber.
Fitting the outer source assembly to the instrument
To fit the outer source assembly to the instrument
1. Move and hold the outer source peg to the left-hand side.
2. Fit the outer source assembly into the source housing.
3. Tighten the outer source locating screw.
Caution: When fitting the re-entrant coupling mechanism, be careful
not to lose the spring, which is fitted between the tee block and ion
block.
