C Starting up and shutting down

This appendix describes how to start-up and shut-down the instrument
Starting up the instrument
To start up the instrument
1. Ensure that the status switch (on the front of the instrument) is in the
Isolate position.
See “Status switch panel” on page 1-8.
2. Ensure that all the MCBs are switched off.
See “A.C. distribution panel” on page 1-6.
3. If applicable, ensure that the Speedivalve on each fore pump is closed.
Tip: The Speedivalves are closed when turned fully clockwise.
4. If no column is fitted, ensure that the GC line is blanked off.
5. Turn on the water supply at a flow rate of 12 L/min (20 °C inlet
temperature) or 6 L/min (10 °C inlet temperature).
6. Switch on the following MCBs:
•3 × System Power
• Data system
•Bench
