Setting up scanning functions 3-21
MIKES Scan function
Use the MIKES Scan function editor to set up mass-analyzed ion kinetic
energy spectrometry (MIKES) scans. In this type of acquisition, a parent ion is
selected by ESA1 and the magnet. It is fragmented in the third field-free
region (FFR3, between the magnet and ESA2). ESA2 is scanned to form an
energy spectrum of the fragment ions.
