7-10 Routine maintenance
Ultrasonic bath.
Source of oil-free, inert gas (nitrogen or helium) for drying (air-drying
optional).
Lint-free paper towels.
Withdrawing the inner source chamber assembly from the source
To withdraw the chamber assembly from the source
1. In the MassLynx Tune window, click Press for Standby and confirm that
the adjacent instrument status indicator shows red.
2. On the Vacuum tab, clear Source.
3. Retract the GC column. See “Installing the GC column” on page 6-3.
Warning: The source and chamber assembly components can be
contaminated with toxic materials. Wear nitrile gloves at all
times while handling the components.
Warning: The source can be hot. To avoid burns, take great care
when handling the source components.
Caution: To avoid damaging the GC column and inner source chamber
assembly, retract the GC column before retracting the inner source
handle.
