GC interface
To renew the injection port septum
1. Open the reference inlet and pump valves.
2. Wait for 10 minutes to remove any sample from the injection port.
3. Close the reference inlet valve.
4. On the MassLynx Tune window’s Inlets tab, set Capillary Line 1,
Capillary Line 2, and Re-entrant to 50, and Septum to 0.
5. Wait for approximately 45 minutes for the GC interface to cool.
Tip: Monitor the Septum readback to ensure that the temperature is less
than 40 °C.
6. Unscrew and remove the injection port thumbscrew.
Warning: The GC interface components can be contaminated
with toxic materials. Wear nitrile gloves at all times while
handling the components.
Warning: To avoid burns, take care when working with the GC
interface, because it can be hot.
