If applicable, rotary pump not
operating correctly.
Gas-ballast the rotary pumps.
Inspect the rotary pump oil. If the oil
is dirty, flush the pump with clean
oil, and then refill the pump with
new oil.
Scroll pump not operating correctly. Contact Waters (see page i-iv).
Leak in a vacuum backing line. Inspect the vacuum hoses for cracks
or vacuum leaks.
Restriction in the vacuum pump
exhaust tubing.
Inspect the exhaust lines for
restrictions.
Turbomolecular or diffusion pump
not operating correctly.
Contact Waters (see page i-iv).
Source heater not working :
Possible cause Corrective action
The source heater has failed. Inspect the Tune window Source
tab’s Source Temp (°C) readback. If
it is incorrect, contact Waters (see
page i-iv).
