Regi-Loop
Use this option to adjust and correct skew that may be occurring in the lead direction of the sheet as
it is being fed through the paper path. Adjusting the loop varies the amount of paper buckle that
occurs against the registration gate, and thereby optimizes the correction of lead skew.
Tip: Regi-Loop is used in conjunction with Alignment Profile. Before using the Regi-Loop
option, first use the Alignment feature; if adjusting the alignment is unsuccessful; then adjust
the Regi-Loop option. For information and instructions, refer to Alignment Profiles.
The following illustration shows the sheet as it is being fed through the paper path and the area
where the loop amount occurs.
Adjustment ranges from -3.0 mm (-0.118 in.) to +3.0 mm (+0.118 in.), and the amounts may be
set to as low as 0.3 mm (0.0118 in.).
If the variation of lead skew is large, then increase the loop amount in the plus (+) direction.
Depending on the paper type or weight (g/m
2
) and if f the loop is too large, then damage may
occur on the lead edge of the paper.
If buckling occurs with thin paper in environments such as high temperature and high humidity,
then reduce the amount of loop in the minus (-) direction.
Pre Gate Roll Adjustment
This will adjust the pregate roll nip pressure. Choose one of three options:
System Default: This is an automatic setting which uses a preset system Look-Up Table (LUT)
that assigns nip settings for each g/m
2
(weight) stock type.
On: This option enables custom settings when the Aligner Roll Pressure option is used. Before
using Aligner Roll Pressure, you must first switch On this setting.
Off: No nip setting is used.
Test Print
After making adjustments to any of the Advanced Stock Setup options, always run test prints
before running a job. Running test prints will ensure whether or not the printed output is acceptable
and if more changes should be made before running a job. For more information and instructions,
refer to Test Print.
Primary Transfer Current Adjustment
The purpose of this adjustment is to correct black (K) line smears at lead edge area of the print
output. The smears occur at approximately 10 mm from the lead edge. Black (K) line smears can be
corrected by increasing the primary (first) transfer current.
