satisfactory performance. If the output is still curling more than desired, use one of the Custom Curl
Correction settings.
Custom Curl Correction
There are nine customized settings, including the default No Curl. These settings are saved to the
press memory and can be recalled and used at point of need. The nine settings include the following:
Severe (Large) Upward
Medium Upward
Moderate (Small) Upward
Slight (Very Small) Upward
No Curl
Slight (Very Small) Downward
Moderate (Small) Downward
Medium Downward
Severe (Large) Downward
Use the custom selections if the Default and Types A, B, and C did not succeed in reducing or
eliminating the paper curl.
The selection is based on the printed output. For example, if the printed output is curled upwards,
always select an upward correction.
Select a value that is one higher or lower than the current output or value. For example with an
upward curling output, select the next value of Medium Upward.
Selecting a value that is two or more higher or lower can apply too much correction, and
therefore, can cause paper jams and wrinkled output.
Test Print Button for Paper Curl Correction
Selecting the Test Print button displays a window with secondary test print options:
Tray selection
Choose a tray from the drop-down list.
Quantity
Select from 1–99.
Long Edge Feed or Short Edge Feed
Select the feed direction of the media loaded in the selected tray.
Front Print Density Level
This option is available for 1 Sided-Face Up, 1 Sided-Face Down, and 2 Sided.
Enter the desired print (dry ink/toner) density amount as required.
Density amount should match approximately with the image density on the target prints.
Density amounts range from 0–70%.
If your output is a high dry ink/toner coverage area on the output, you may want to enter a
higher print density amount.
