ACCESS 2 detects pump contactor coil driver
shorted (AC or DC Hydraulic models).
Step 1: Verify the pump contactor coil is getting the
proper voltage. With key on and operator present,
place meter leads on wires at pump contactor coil.
• If: 17 to 22 Vdc, after contactor pulls in.
– Then inspect contactor to make sure tips are in
good condition and the contactor tips move
without binding, repair/replace as necessary.
Note: Pump contactor coil resistance is 50 ohm.
• If: Less than 17 Vdc.
– Then proceed to Step 2.
Step 2: Verify pump contactor coil output between
CA409-2 (+) and CA409-8 (-) (AC Hyd models) or
CA405-27 (+) and CA405-26 (-) (DC Hyd models) at
ACCESS 2.
• If: 17 to 22 Vdc.
– Then issue exists in wiring between CA409
(AC Hyd models), CA405 (DC Hyd models),
CA210 and pump contactor coil. Repair/re-
place as necessary.
• If: Less than 17 Vdc.
– Then proceed to Step 3.
Step 3: Verify ACCESS 2 is getting proper key switch
input voltage between CA409-1 (+) and BNEG (AC) or
CA405-33 (+) and BNEG (DC).
• If: 33 to 35 Vdc.
– Then replace ACCESS 2.
• If: Less than 33 Vdc.
– Then issue exists in power up circuit. Check for
open in circuit between KYS, K1, FU5 and
CA409-1(AC) or CA405-33 (DC).
