Event Code 710
Steer Encoder Supply Voltage Out of Range.
This diagnostic is monitoring the steer encoder (ECR3)
/ FS,RS output voltage to ensure it is within the range
of 4.75 V to 5.5 V at all times. If the voltage goes above
or outside this range, then the event is logged.
Note: The steer encoder and FS/RS share power sup-
ply.
Step 1: Measure voltage across steer encoder positive
and negative. CA602-1+ and CA602-4. Should mea-
sure 4.75-5.5 Vdc.
• If: Outside range.
– Then proceed to Step 2.
• If: Within range.
– Then replace ACCESS 7.
Step 2: Check voltage at CA231-6 and CA231-9
(ACCESS 7).
• If: Within range.
– Then fix wiring problem between CA602 and
CA231.
• If: Outside range.
– Then proceed to Step 3.
Step 3: Disconnect CA221-3 and CA221-4 to FS/RS
and recheck voltage at CA231-6+ and CA231-9
(ACCESS 7).
• If: Within range.
– Then short is in the FS/RS circuit.
• If: Outside range.
– Then replace ACCESS 7.
