Sideshifter Cylinder
Sideshifter Cylinder
The sideshifter cylinder is located at the base of the
load backrest and sits between the forks. Extreme care
should be taken when performing any type of repair. In
the event of excessive oil leakage around the rod end
of the cylinder or its inability to lift the load, the cylinder
will have to be removed from the truck and repaired.
Sideshifter Cylinder Inspection
NOTE
Minor nicks will not bypass oil under pressure. If unable
to remove nicks with an emery cloth, the part should be
replaced.
1. Inspect all components for nicks or burrs and re-
move them with 400-grit emery cloth.
2. The outside of the shell should be checked for de-
formities that weaken the shell's performance
when under pressure. Replace if necessary.
