Event Code 733
ACCESS 7 CAN Communication Issue with
ACCESS 1.
ACCESS 1 Passive Issue.
Step 1: Key ON truck, verify status of ACCESS 7 sta-
tus light and 36 Vdc from CA231-7 (+) to CA231-8 (-).
• If: 36 Vdc and event code continues.
– Then check wiring for proper connections from
CA231-1 to CA215-19 and CA231-12 to
CA215-18. If wiring is OK, proceed to Step 2.
• If: 0 Vdc.
– Then Check FU3, KYS, K1 and associated wir-
ing to ACCESS 7. If components and wiring
are OK, replace ACCESS 7.
Step 2: Determine if event code is being logged during
different truck functions.
• If: Event is logged during a function.
– Then check load and suppression.
• If: Event is logged when truck is idle.
– Then proceed to Step 3.
Step 3: Key OFF truck, disconnect strobe and electri-
cal accessories and Key ON truck.
• If: Event code clears.
– Then replace strobe or accessory.
• If: Event Code continues.
– Then proceed with Steps 4 and 5.
Step 4: Check CAN communication lines. Key OFF
truck, with a DVOM check resistance between CAN
high and CAN low at CA202-5 and CA202-6 on distri-
bution panel, should be 60 ohm.
• If: 0 ohm.
– Then short exists in CAN wiring, repair as nec-
essary.
• If: Greater than 60 ohm.
– Then proceed to Step 5.
Step 5: Remove CA231 and check resistance from
CA231-1 and CA231-12 on ACCESS 7.
• If: Greater than 120 ohm.
– Then replace ACCESS 7.
• If: 120 ohm.
– Proceed to Step 6.
Step 6: Check for CAN line short to battery positive,
battery negative, or truck frame. Key OFF truck, dis-
connect battery. With a DVOM check resistance at
power unit from CAN low to battery negative buss bar,
TP8 on distribution panel and truck frame. Resistance
should be greater than 10k ohm. Repair wiring as nec-
essary.
