Pump Maintenance
Pump Maintenance
General
Before beginning to disassemble the pump, make sure
you have a clean, dust-free location, using clean tools
and equipment. Dirt or grit will damage the highly pol-
ished machined surfaces and will result in leakage or
premature failure of the pump.
Pump Disassembly
1. Remove bolts which hold the pump to the lift motor.
2. Remove the lift pump from motor.
3. Carefully remove the O-ring seal (index 3).
4. Remove the Priority Valve (index 4) and remove
O-rings (Item 5).
Parts Inspection
Wash all metal parts thoroughly with a good cleaning
fluid. Inspect, in the order disassembled, for wear and
damage.
Body
Examine the body and make sure there is no visible
damage to the body.
Priority Valve
Check for damage to the valve components and the
condition of the O-rings.
