Steering potentiometer POT4 out of range.
Step 1: Verify steering potentiometer angle using Ana-
lyzer A2.3.8.2. Should read approximately 0 Degrees
steer wheels straight ahead, +90 degrees full right and
-90 degrees full left.
• If: Reading correct.
– Then calibrate steer potentiometer and moni-
tor.
• If: Reading incorrect.
– Then proceed to Step 2.
Step 2: Check steering potentiometer wiper voltage
using Analyzer A2.3.8.1. Voltage is approximately 5.2
Vdc wheels straight ahead, 1.6 Vdc wheels full left and
8.9 Vdc wheels full right.
• If: Voltage within range.
– Then proceed to Step 3.
• If: Voltage out of range.
– Then proceed to step 4.
Step 3: Check steering potentiometer voltage at
ACCESS 3 connector CA403-17. Use TP6 battery
negative as reference. Voltage is approximately 5.2
Vdc wheels straight ahead, 1.6 Vdc wheels full left and
8.9 Vdc wheels full right.
• If: Voltage within range.
– Then replace ACCESS 3.
• If: Voltage out of range.
– Then issue exists in wiring or connection be-
tween CA403-17 and CA601-C. Repair/re-
place as necessary.
Step 4: Check voltage between CA601-A (+) and
CA601-B (-) at POT1. Should be between 11.0 to 11.3
Vdc.
• If: Voltage within range.
– Then replace steering potentiometer (POT1).
• If: Voltage out of range.
– Then proceed to Step 5.
Step 5: Check voltage supply to steering potentiometer
between CA403-16 (+) and CA403-15 (-). Should read
11.0 to 11.3 Vdc.
• If: Voltage within range.
– Then check wiring and connections between
CA403 and CA601. Repair/replace as neces-
sary.
• If: Voltage out of range.
– Then replace ACCESS 3.
