LIFTING MECHANISM
Mast
• The top of the outer and 2nd stage masts should 
be even with each other.
• The 3rd stage mast should be about 2 to 3 mm 
(0.079 to 0.12 in) above the outer and 2nd stage 
masts.
• The inner stage mast should be about 2 to 3 mm 
(0.079 to 0.12 in) above the 3rd stage mast.
• Any variation in these measurements indicates the 
lift chain tensions are incorrect and need to be ad-
justed to achieve the above measurements.
Another indication the mast lift chains need adjustment
is if the masts are resting on the mast stop bolts at the
bottom of the 2nd stage, a stop bar welded to the bot-
tom of the 3rd stage mast and/or the bracket mounted
to the bottom of the inner mast. If any of the stages are
resting on these locations then the lift chains need to
be adjusted to the above listed dimensions. Refer to
Figure 16952.
Always replace lift chains in pairs whenever replace-
ment is indicated.
