Matrix PRASAR UCS System Manual 743
Closed User Group (CUG)
What’s this?
A Closed User Group is a network of PBXs to provide seamless connectivity. To have private networks, few PBXs
can be connected to each other over the IP Network. The PBXs connected in the network behave as a single unit.
Extension users of one PBX can reach the extension users of the other PBX without dialing any access code, as if
they were dialing extension numbers of their own PBX. Users will not know whether they are dialing an extension
number of their own PBX or of the other PBX.
There can be two different application scenarios in this case:
A network in which you have unique extension number in all the systems
A network in which you have same extension number in all the systems
How it works
Scenario 1
A network in which you:
have unique extension number in all the systems, that is, one cannot have extension number 2001 in
System-A as well as in System-B or System-C.
S1 to Sn are extensions.
SIP Trunk 1 to SIP Trunk 3 are SIP Trunks connecting the three Systems.
