Mailbox Settings
What’s this?
The VMS allows extension users to change the settings of the following facilities of their mailbox:
Record the Extension Name for their mailbox.
Redirect Messages from their mailbox.
Delete all old messages.
Delete all messages.
Record Personal and Conditional Greetings for their mailbox.
Configure the Personal (Mobile/Alternate) Number and the Assistance Number.
To be able to use this feature, make sure a digit has been assigned to Mailbox Management. For
instructions, see “Mailbox Access”.
How to use
Call the VMS by dialing 3931,
The VMS takes you to your mailbox.
VMS responds with: "You have <n> new messages" followed by the prompt: "Enter your mailbox
password".
VMS prompts: "To listen to new messages press '1', to listen to old messages press '2', to send a message
press '3', to change your mailbox settings press '4'."
Dial 4 to go to Mailbox Settings.
The VMS responds with: “For Mailbox Name press '1', For message redirection press '2', To delete all old
messages of your mailbox press '3', To delete all messages of your mailbox press '4', For Mailbox
Greetings press ‘5’, To go to previous menu press '#'.”
By default no digits are assigned for the options - Assistance Number and Personal Number, hence these
options will not be played to the caller. For details, see “Mailbox Management”.
To assign Name to your Mailbox:
•Dial 1 VMS prompts: "To record press '1'. To play press '2'. To erase press '3'. To go to previous menu,
press '#'."
Dial 1 to record name for mailbox VMS prompts: "Record your name after the beep and press any digit
to end."
Names for extensions can also be recorded from the System Administrator mode. See “Record Greetings/
Name”.
