This appendix details the performance specifications, and the types of
file used by MassLynx software, for the instrument.
Performance specifications
Note: The following specifications are for the Ultima (standard) magnet.
Contact Waters for specification details if your instrument is fitted with the
optional High-field or Low-field magnets.

In the SIR mode at 10,000 resolution, while selecting two masses from
natural 2,3,7,8-TCDD (m/z 319.8965 and 321.8936) and two masses from

-2,3,7,8-TCDD (m/z 331.9368 and 333.9339) plus a lock-mass and
lock-mass check; the signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) at m/z 321.8936 from
100 fg of 2,3,7,8-TCDD standard injected on to a 30 metre DB5 column is
as follows:
•S/N
≥ 125:1, where noise is a peak-to-peak measurement
encompassing 95% of raw noise data points (equivalent to 4
standard deviations, that is. ±2σ about the mean).
