S Serial Decode
To set up the oscilloscope to capture I
2
S signals, see “Setup for I2S
Signals” on page 302.
To set up I
2
S serial decode:
1 Press [Serial]; then, select the I
2
S serial decode mode.
2 Press the Base softkey to select the number base in which to display
decoded data.
3 If the decode line does not appear on the display, press the [Serial] key
to turn it on.
4 If the oscilloscope is stopped, press the [Run/Stop] key to acquire and
decode data.
You can use the Zoom horizontal sweep mode for easier navigation of the
acquired data.
When triggering is set to CAN, LIN, Flexray, or UART/RS232 mode, decoding in I
2
S is not
allowed. When triggering in I
2
C or SPI modes, or any non-serial trigger mode, I
2
S is
available for decoding. When I
2
S is selected as the trigger mode, only I
2
S decode is
available.

S triggering setup see “I2S Triggering” on page 306.
If the setup does not produce a stable trigger, the I2S signal may be slow enough that the
oscilloscope is AutoTriggering. Press the [Mode/Coupling] key, then press the Mode
softkey to set the trigger mode from Auto to Normal.
