Removing the injector
To optimise engine performance, there are four
lower injectors on the throttle bodies and four up-
per injectors on the filter box. Except during tran-
sition stages, only the lower or the upper injectors
are working at any given time.
•
The lower injectors optimise tractability
and reduce emissions and fuel con-
sumption
•
The upper injectors are designed for
maximum power output and, as a re-
sult, have a high fuel flow rate
The electrical connectors are colour coded as fol-
lows to prevent accidentally swapping the injector
connectors:
•
Cylinder 1: Black
•
Cylinder 2: Brown
•
Cylinder 3: Green
•
Cylinder 4: Grey
LOWER INJECTORS
•
Remove the air filter box.
•
Disconnect the injector connectors.
•
Unscrew and remove the injector fixing
screws.
•
Remove the lower injectors, identified
by grey collars.
