Enters the default zone configuration submode.
Step 3 switch(config-default-zone)# attribute read-only
Sets read-only attributes for the default zone.
Step 4 (Optional) switch(config-default-zone)# no attribute read-only
Reverts the default zone attributes to read-write (default).
Configuring Read-Only Zones Using Fabric Manager
To configure read-only zones using Fabric Manager, follow these steps:
Step 1 Choose Zone > Edit Local Full Zone Database.
You see the Select VSAN dialog box.
Step 2 Select a VSAN and click OK.
You see the Edit Local Full Zone Database dialog box for the selected VSAN.
Step 3 Click Zones in the left pane and click the Insert icon to add a zone.
You see the Create Zone Dialog Box.

Step 4 Check the Read Only check box to create a read-only zone.
Step 5 Click OK.
To configure the read-only option for a default zone, see Configuring the Default Zone Policy, on page 92 section.
Displaying Zone Information
You can view any zone information by using the show command. If you request information for a specific
object (for example, a specific zone, zoneset, VSAN, or alias, or keywords such as brief or active), only
information for the specified object is displayed. If you do not request specific information, all available
information is displayed.
