Configuring IRDP

The following code example enables IRDP on VLAN 10, leaving all default values, and then shows
the IRDP configuration on that VLAN. This example assumes that VLAN 10 has already been
configured for routing.
C5(su)->router#configure
C5(su)->router(Config)#interface vlan 10
C5(su)->router(Config-if(Vlan 10))#ip irdp enable
C5(su)->router(Config-if(Vlan 10))#exit
C5(su)->router(Config)#show ip irdp vlan 10
Interface vlan 10 has router discovery enabled
Advertisements will occur between 450 and 600 seconds
Advertisements are sent with multicasts
Advertisements are valid for 1800 seconds
Default preference will be 0
