CAUTION: Configuring the two management interfaces within the same subnet is not
supported.
NOTE: You cannot use the management ports to perform the initial configuration of the QFX5100
device. You must configure the management ports before you can successfully connect to the
QFX5100 switch using these ports. See Configure a QFX5100 Device.
Ensure that you have an appropriate cable available. See “Cable Specifications for Console and Management
Connections for the QFX Series” on page 146 and The Hardware Compatibility Tool.
To connect a QFX5100 switch to a network for out-of-band management (see Figure 82 on page 297):
1. Connect one end of the cable to one of the management ports (labeled C0 and
C1) on the QFX5100 switch.
2. Connect the other end of the cable to the management switch (see Figure 82 on page 297).
