Overview
Managing the E Series router involves a variety of tasks. This chapter covers those
tasks associated with the router in general rather than specific networking protocols.
Each section in the chapter covers a different topic; where appropriate, a section
contains an overview of the topic, configuration tasks, and information about
monitoring the associated settings.
For additional management information, CLI commands, and procedures, refer to

Platform Considerations
System management is supported on all E Series routers.

Naming the System
When you receive the router, it has a factory default host name. To rename the
router, use the hostname command.
hostname
Use to rename the router.
The assigned name is displayed in the command-line interface (CLI) prompts.
