5.6 New Holland Combines
5.6.1 Attaching Header to New Holland CR/CX Combine
DANGER
To prevent bodily injury or death from the unexpected start-up of the machine, always stop the engine and remove the
key from the ignition before leaving the operators seat for any reason.

1. Ensure handle (A) is positioned so hooks (B) can engage the
adapter.

DANGER
Never start or move the machine until you are sure all
bystanders have cleared the area.
2. Start the engine and slowly drive the combine up to the
adapter until feeder house saddle (A) is directly under
adapter top cross member (B) top cross member (B).
3. Raise the feeder house slightly to lift the header, ensuring
the feeder saddle is properly engaged in the adapter frame.
4. Shut down the engine, and remove the key from the
ignition.

5. Lift lever (A) on the adapter on the left side of feeder
house, and push handle (B) on combine to engage locks (C)
on both sides of the feeder house.
6. Push down on lever (A) so that the slot in the lever engages
the handle and locks the handle in place.
7. If the lock does not fully engage the pin on the adapter,
then loosen bolts (E) and adjust lock (C). Retighten
the bolts.
