5. Remove lynch pin (A).
6. Hold shoe (B) and remove pin (C) by disengaging it from the
frame and pulling it away from the shoe.
7. Raise or lower skid shoe (B) to achieve the desired position;
use the holes in support (D) as a guide.
8. Install pin (C), engage the pin in the frame, and secure it
with lynch pin (A).
9. Repeat Step 5, page 59 to Step 8, page 59 for all inner skid
shoes and ensure that all skid shoes are equally adjusted.
10. Adjust the header angle to the desired working position
using the machines header angle controls. If the header
angle is not critical, set it to the mid-position.
11. Check the header float. For instructions, refer to 3.7.2
Header Float, page 60.
Adjusting Outer Skid Shoes
Skid shoes affect stubble height when cutting on the ground.
DANGER
To prevent bodily injury or death from the unexpected start-up or fall of a raised machine, always stop the engine,
remove the key, and engage the safety props before going under the header for any reason.
1. Raise the header fully.
2. Shut down the engine, and remove the key from the ignition.
3. Engage the header safety props.
4. Raise the stabilizer wheels or slow speed transport wheels fully (if installed). For instructions, refer to the following:

5. Remove lynch pin (A) from pin (C) on skid shoe (B).
6. Hold shoe (B) and remove adjustment pin (C) by
disengaging it from the frame and pulling it away from
the shoe.
7. Raise or lower skid shoe (B) to achieve the desired position;
use the holes in the support as a guide.
8. Reinstall pin (C), engage it in the frame, and secure it with
lynch pin (A).
9. Ensure that all skid shoes are equally adjusted.
10. Check the header float. Refer to 3.7.2 Header Float, page
60.
