3. Turn on the EPOCH 1000 Series and the VGA device.
4. Activate the VGA output of the EPOCH 1000 Series by selecting 3/5 > Display
Setup
> VGA = On.
The content of the instrument screen appears on the display of the VGA device.
5. By default, the VGA output is deactivated when the EPOCH 1000 Series first
starts up. To set the VGA output to be active whenever the instrument first starts
up:
a) Choose 3/5 > Display Setup > Color Setup to open the Color setup page.
b) Move the focus to VGA at Power-up, and then set the value to On.
c) Press [ESCAPE] to exit the Color setup page.
8.2 Analog Outputs
The EPOCH 1000 Series offers four programmable analog outputs. These analog
outputs allow the EPOCH
1000 Series to continuously output thickness or amplitude
information to an external device, such as a strip chart recorder or a computer
outfitted with an analog/digital converter card.
The information is output as a scaled voltage, on either a 0–1 V or 0–10 V scale. These
voltage signals are output via the 9-pin A
NALOG OUT D-sub connector, located on the
back of the instrument (see section
1.4.3 on page 31). Refer to Table 33 on page 317 for
the ANALOG OUT connector pinout. Each scaled voltage can be output at full PRF rate
(up to 6
kHz), or can be compressed to a 60 Hz output, depending on the acquisition
rate required by the connected data acquisition device.
