To change the value of a parameter with an editable value
1. Select the parameter with an editable value for which you want to change the
value (see section
3.4.1 on page 81 for details).
The button background of the selected parameter turns to yellow, showing that it
now has the focus (see section
3.1.3 on page 54 for details on the focus concept).
2. If needed, toggle the increase/decrease value mode from coarse to fine using one
of the following methods:
a) Press [CHECK].
b) With a USB keyboard connected to the instrument, press ENTER.
The increase/decrease value mode is coarse when the button label is underlined
and is fine when not underlined.
3. Use one of the following methods to change the parameter value:
a) Turn the adjustment knob until the desired value appears in the button below
the label.
b) Press [UP] or the [DOWN] arrow key until the desired value appears in the
button below the label.
c) With a USB mouse connected to the instrument, rotate the wheel of the mouse
until the desired value appears in the button below the label.
d) With a USB keyboard connected to the instrument, press the [UP] or the
[DOWN] arrow key until the desired value appears in the button below the
label.
The edited value is immediately effective.
3.4.4 Entering an Alphanumeric Value Using the Virtual Keyboard
A setup page containing one or more parameters with alphanumeric values also
contains a virtual keyboard. The virtual keyboard allows you to easily enter
alphanumeric characters without having to use a USB keyboard.
To enter an alphanumeric value using the virtual keyboard
1. Access a setup page that contains parameters with alphanumeric values.
For example, choose 3/5 > Inst Setup > Owner Info to access the Owner Info
setup page shown in
Figure 3-23 on page 85.
